The sequencing of the human genome sets the stage for proteomics - the large-scale analysis of proteins. By revealing the complex relationships between proteins and both disease and health, proteomics will create unprecedented opportunities in the research and clinical arenas. SomaLogic's arrays for proteomics will be based on the company's proprietary photoaptamer technology and will allow the simultaneous quantitative analysis of multiple proteins. Initial applications will be offered to life sciences and clinical researchers on a service basis and will focus on inflammation and angiogenesis. Through time, SomaLogic will expand its arrays to other protein families of interest and offer stand-alone proteomic analysis systems. SomaLogic's clinical development efforts will use these same arrays as the basis for a new generation of diagnostics. Through the discovery of the complex patterns of protein expression associated with health and disease, SomaLogic will help drive a new approach to clinical medicine.
