GSTpi protein has role in Parkinson's

Feb. 3, 2007 - The degeneration of brain cells that occurs in Parkinson's disease may be caused by either externally provoked cell death or internally initiated suicide when the molecule that normally prevents these fatal alternatives is missing, according to studies in mouse models by investigators at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  link to full story

Her-2/neu-related peptide in Phase II for Breast Cancer

Feb. 1, 2007 - Generex Biotechnology Corporation (NASDAQ: GNBT) announced today that it has entered into a Phase II clinical trial using its novel peptide vaccine in breast cancer patients in conjunction with the United States Military Cancer Institute's (USMCI) Clinical Trials Group under a Clinical Trial Agreement. The immunotherapeutic vaccine, AE37, is being developed by Generex's Antigen Express division in the United States.   link to full story

Ciphergen makes their Mark in Ovarian Cancer

Ciphergen Biosystems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CIPH) today announced the publication of data validating the use of its protein biomarkers to discriminate women with ovarian cancer from women with benign ovarian tumors and other non-gynecologic diseases.
